Bryce Canyon and Zion National Parks, Utah

From Moab we headed further southwest into Utah to visit two more national parks - Bryce Canyon (more rocks!) and Zion.
Camping at Bryce Canyon. John is getting good at making campfires but MC is not impressed at having to cook the frankfurters on a twig (after she found proper forks in the camp shop for $3 but wasn't allowed to buy them!).
Impressive hoodoos (pinnacles) at Bryce Canyon. The tall one on the left is called Thor's Hammer.
The Canyon is actually a giant natural amphitheatre caused by erosion.

Some cool cloud effects going on in the sky.
A curious raven means John is too scared to get out of the car...
The formations are amazing and the views breathtaking. John's breath is being taken.

The bright colours come from oxidised iron and manganese.
Mule deer are the most common large animals in the Park and they certainly aren't afraid of cars!

From Bryce Canyon we continued our journey south towards next national park on the itinerary - Zion.
Mountain shrouded in mist on the road towards Zion Canyon.
The Three Patriarchs - Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
Friendly lizard smiling for the camera.
Emerald Falls in Zion Canyon.
Some crazy tourists doing acrobatics on the side of the cliff!
Emerald Pools.

Lots of waterfalls cascade over the cliffs from the Emerald Pools.

Weeping Rock - you can just see the water droplets falling from the rock on the left hand side of the photo.
MC at Weeping Rock.

View from The Big Bend.

After spending the night in nearby Springdale we crossed out of Utah and into Arizona to check out the Grand Canyon.
